Beautiful Zena, who I rescued from the shelter here in Fethiye when I found her, was just. Five weeks old. Unfortunately, her eyes were damaged and infected from feline herpes vırues. I took her straight to the vet, where her right eye was. She had her right eye removed. But with a lot of eye care, she recovered wonderfully, and we also managed to save her left eye. she now has a beautiful home where she lives with sultan, one of my other fosters.
Both were part of 4 siblings who came to me with the mother. I took care of them all and the mother. they were both adopted together and went to a lovely family in Fethiye who I keep in touch regularly.
Amber was part of 5 siblings who came to me with the mother. I took care of them all and the mother. Amber went to a lovely family in Fethiye who I keep in touch regularly.
Duman was part of 5 siblings who came to me with the mother. I took care of them all and the mother. Duman went to a lovely family in Fethiye who I keep in touch regularly.
Beautiful little Henry, who we thought was a boy. Now named Henryetta is just the most loving young girl. She came to us from a lady who found her in a children's park in Fethiye; she was around four weeks old. We think she must have had a mother and the kids had picked her up and taken her to the park, then forgot about her; she's small for her age now, two months old, thriving. Eating dried food and wet food, I've never seen a kitten purr so much like her. she rubs her face in yours and snuggles right close into your neck. I would describe her as a very affectionate young kitten who will grow to be even more loving. she has been socialised with other kıttens cats and even a tiny dog. She's excellent with children and a real family cat. Over the weeks, I take my time assessing and learning the behaviour of each kitten. We make sure they are fed on good quality foods like royal canin. They Are wormed flead and always leave with having their first kitten injections. if you think you could be this particular family who could adopt her, Henry was adopted along with her step-sister Narla in the same home.
Beautiful little Narla, the sweetest land, luckiest little girl. Carla was rescued from underneath a car; she was fortunate to be alive, she had headınjurts and a burnt ear, and when she arrived home, she could not walk in a straight line. Her eyes were flıckering, and she was very dehydrated. The next day we took her in for a Mrİ scan, checking her whole body for any problems or serious head injuries. Severe The scan showed that Carla had ıncured a head injury, but with time, she would recover. To our surprise, after her medication on day 2, she was like a normal playful seven-week-old kitten. We were so happy because we were so unsure about marlas future. But now we are full of positivity that she will get the best home she deserves. Narla has had her 1st kitten injections and has been wormed and flea. Her social skills are perfect; she's ınteracted with big cats, kıttens, small dogs, kittens and humans regularly. She's a cheeky, cute, lovable girl. She was so lucky to be adopted along with her step-sister Henry.
This is beautiful taffy which was rescued in Fethiye. He came to me with his mother and siblings and was the last to be adopted by a lovely family in Fethiye.
He was loving, spicy and a right little character. He touched our hearts with his timid nature and beautiful markings.
This is beautiful Mufasa, who was rescued in Fethiye. Mufasa had managed to get himself stuck in the drainage system. But the local fire service saved him. A call was made to me to see if I could take him on, and of course, I did. Mufasa was wild at heart and had never been around humans. He had the cutest little hiss. And would hide at every chance he could get. It took Mufasa about four days to feel relaxed. But when he did, he was adorable.
Kittens who have never had human contact tend to grow out of shyness as they get older. But if the mothers are wild at heart, they will always carry a small part of this with them for life. He stayed with us for almost two months. A lovely family then adopted him in Fethiye.
On the 16th of August 2021, Zeki and his family were dumped on the side of the road in a cardboard box. His mother, whom we named moon, had four babies she was no longer feeding. Her milk had stopped, and she was underweight. All babies and mothers were covered in ringworm. Every Wednesday, I help the local shelter in Fethiye, and I came across this beautiful family, so I decided to take them on all. Mum was spayed, and kittens and mum were reunited, but unfortunately, mum was not Interested. And was acting aggressively toward her kittens. We feared they would be hurt and had to separate them and continue feeding them alone. We continued to search for a home for mother moon, and she had a fantastic home offer in the UK. She moved to her current foster home to start her process. Unfortunately, we lost three of the kittens. We are not sure why, but they were underweight initially. Only one boy survived. His name was Zeki. Zeki becomes more playful by the day. And finally, by the time he was three months old, he was ready to be adopted. Zeki was adopted by a lovely family here in Fethiye. He continues to grow and enjoy life. My only wish was that the others survived. But it was too late to undo the damage already done in the beginning.
Meet is Bambi
I rescued her from the shelter when she was around a year old. Bambi was handed into the shelter with her babies by her owner with a pink collan. The babies were adopted but Bambi remained at the top. I used to see her every Wednesday. She was one of the primary cats that wanted attention. Always jumping on you to be held. Speaking to you all the time. But three months passed and her owners still had not returned. Bambi was losing weight and one day I saw her laying in a corner with no fight to get up and move. I picked her up she was a bag of bones. Her collar was hanging off her neck. This beautiful girl was so big and friendly. I cried and cried and decided she couldn’t stay there any longer. She was never a street cat. And she was not coping in the shelter environment. So she came home with me. It took a long eight weeks to build her up. Lots of food and love. I had her spayed via the shelter and then vaccinated her at local vets We wanted to find her a loving home. She was finally offered a forever home, but it didn’t work out. She came back to me, we started searching again. Then a wonderful lady offered to take her on. She’s so lucky to have had another chance. And I'm So genuinely grateful that they took her on.
This is Duman. He was found in September in the high summer heat of Fethiye. He was barely
moving, barely breathing, lying flat out on the floor. I received the call for help and was out of the area. I arranged for a taxi to collect this poor kitten and get him to the vet, where he stayed a few nights on a drip. With nowhere to go after this, I went to collect him and bring him home where I could continue his treatment. Duman was severely dehydrated, and this was the reason he collapsed. He got more potent by the week, and finally, he was the crazy kitten he should be. His new family eventually adopted Duman.
UPDATE JULY 2021
reef, now named coco, went for his operation to make his pee hole bigger. The process was successful, and he is now recovering very well.
Beautiful Harissa who was bottle-fed from 2 weeks old was rehomed to the lovely Erdem in Fethiye. After her first home fell through he came to her rescue. And he even adopted a second kitten from the streets to keep her company. She loves her life with Erdem. He built some lovely cat shelves for her to climb. And sends me many updates. I couldn't have wished for a better home for her. I will always be thankful to him for adopting this spice cheeky girl.
Who can't forget the beautiful reefie found in the back of a truck with his sibling coral at 2 days old? the premature boy who struggled to put on weight. And went through the wars after the other kittens would suckle on his pee-pee. Which caused him to get an infection. Unfortunately, now that his almost 4 months old he's got some lasting effects of leaking pee this is from where the kittens suckled on his bits. This was Unnoticeable at the time when he was smaller as he was always close to his litter tray and sharing a bed with 4 others we were unable to see any difference. But a wonderful lady here in Fethiye offered this boy a home. And he made a new friend. His extremely lucky to have such a wonderful family. He will be soon seen by a vet now his reached a healthy age to see what can be done with his incontinence. Updates to come on this sweet gentle boy.
Well, bea was very hard to home. She was so close to my heart as she gave me great comfort after we lost penny. She reminded me of her so much. Even the way she looked. Bea was a sibling of the 3 that was abandoned by the mother cat after male cats had touched the other siblings and killed one of them leaving the mum in great fear. We were in two minds about whether to keep her but actually, I had to think again for her and not for me. It would have been wrong if me to have put my feelings in front of her happiness. Over the years I started with bottle feeding. And It's still a big part of my life. But over the years I started to take care of cats with disabilities too. I dedicated one area of the home especially for disabled ones because their needs were high. Keeping bea meant that she wouldn't get the time she deserved from me with the care I have to give the other cats. I wanted her to be happy and live a long happy life and have the chance to be an indoor or outdoor cat. Living with me would have meant she would spend the next 15 years or more indoors. We're she was perfectly healthy to have more. When dear muge contacted me about looking for new kittens as her beloved cat passed away after 8 years. Something told me she was the one. The one who will give bea all the attention she deserves. It broke me but I know I did the right thing for her. Many cats and kittens have left me but there is a handful that never leaves my heart. Ones I find so difficult to let go.
Chesapea was one of the 4 siblings i rescued back ın may 2021. he was always the most timid one. but he was the first to get his home with a lovely german family here ın fethıye. He was also the first to come off the bottle and the first one to eat wet food. it's always a joy seeing them be so İndependent.
This is Martha and Arthur.
These two kittens were adopted by a family but unfortunately at the time they were too young to leave their mother and the lady had to bottle-feed them. I saw a post on social media asking for help. The lady was struggling to feed them, and they were losing weight. There were three but one had died before she came to me. took Martha and Arthur on to continue bottle-feeding them. With 7 years of experience, I knew I could do this easily. Unfortunately, Martha did not like the bottle as much and she was up and down with her weight. I decided to get them on solids slowly each day. And it worked. They started to eat better then they took the bottle. It was a little early, this was a must if they were going to survive. The lady asked if she could have Martha back once she was old enough and well and I said yes of course. They continued to thrive. Martha had some gastrointestinal issues and would get a big backlog of poop in her intestine. Having experience with helping cats clear the colon I could help her with this daily. We finally got past this stage and she went to live on with her new mummy. She’s now almost a year old. Arthur was always easy and did everything normally. Arthur was adopted by a lady in Fethiye also. Arthur has got an adopted sibling and they are living all wonderful lives.
Sultan
This is Sultan He was rescued from Bodrum, Turkey. Sultan, his mother and his sister were left behind by their owner. She went away telling the person who was looking after them that she would be back. But unfortunately, she never returned. In this short time Sultan’s mother and sister came down with distemper and both passed away. I was contacted to see if I could help. Sultan then travelled from Bodrum to Fethiye to me where I started to take care of him. We are watching Sultan very closely as there is a chance he can carry distemper. So far he has shown no signs and has continued to thrive. Sultan is now 2 years old and is currently living with my beautiful friend louıse here in Fethiye.
Double Double trouble siblings
These four little beautys was handed in at the local shelter. it was said mum had not come back. they was on two days old when they reached my hands. it was a critical time, it took me a few days to get them used to the syringe. but they finally got it. they all grew and we never had any issues along the way. it was smooth sailing all the way. around fourtine weeks old they was up for adoption. All four got beautiful homes.
The Pumpkin Siblings
These three kittens were brought to me by someone I know. Their mother had just been killed and all 3 of them could not see. Their eyes were covered in gunge and slime. and they were riddled with fleas and mites. I knew when they arrived that there was a very slim chance their
eyesight would improve and that there was a chance of them all becoming partly blind. After 6 long weeks of eye antibiotics and cleaning and bathing the eyes they slowly started to improve. I couldn't believe that after 2 months their eyes had all completely healed. We had some other issues along the way with hookworms. Two of them suffered terribly and we almost lost Winnie, the little girl. She was the smallest. But she was a fighter and she never gave up. I syringe fed her every day for two weeks and gave her parasite medication and she started to improve. Leon was the first to be adopted; he was the biggest and strongest and was ready to fly nest first. Then Bertie was adopted by lovely family here in Fethiye. Winnie was the last to be adopted as she was quite sick for some time.
Bubbles
Bubbles got his name because of his extremely large round head. He came from Calis Beach, rescued from a pack of dogs and suffering with terrible cat flu.
He came to me from a foster and we built him up. He was a very soft cat and very calm. He loved the company of the other cats. And always attached himself to my Honey. She accepted him straight away. Bubbles was adopted at around 3 months old by a lovely Turkish family in Fethiye. He is still alive andis around 2 years old now. He looks completely different to what he did as a kitten. But he’s still the same affectionate cat he always was.
Tiny Tim
He got his name from his previous care givers who found him on their balcony in Ovacik. They could only take care of him for the short term as they were heading back to the UK. I saw their post asking for help to give him a home or foster. Within an hour he was at mine all settled in. He was confident and already made himself at home laying on the sofa. He had a good appetite and was clearly ready for adoption. After only one week he was offered a lovely home Fethiye. And will be a year old May.
Paco and Robin
Paco and Robin were brothers from another mother.
I got Robin first. His stomach had been bitten into by another cat and he had a big hole. which I had to clean for a month until he healed. He was only 2 weeks old when I got him and I bottle fed him until he was eating. Paco came from a litter of 6 kittens but their mother was not feeding him. We are not sure why, so Itook him to bottle feed him. He then joined Robin and they kept each other warm. There was only a weeks’difference in age. They were adopted together as brothers and continued to live happy lives. Sadly, a year ago Pacowent missing from his home and was never to be seen again. Robin is currently still alive and doing well. He’s around 2 years old now.
yukına
At just 2 days old yunkina came to me without a mother. I bottled fed her for 6 weeks. It was after 4 weeks we noticed somthing different about her. But we couldn't really put our finger on this. It was only untill she was around 10 weeks old we noticed that she was deaf. And once we researched it. We found that its pretty common in white cats. This hasn't stoped her living in any way. She had learnt to live without sound. And continues to have a wonderful life with her dog companions and other cat friends. She still goes out and enjoys her life with her new owner haria. She's now two years old and still a little money. She was always very energetic and mischievous
Mia
Crazy little Mia as we called her. I took Mia from the shelter. She was with a surrogate mother but she was old enough to leave. I took her home to feed her up some more before searching for a home. Mia stayed with us for 2 months and thrived in every way. She never had any issues, no illnesses just a little underweight. She was very, very playful and very feisty. Because of her colour she gained a lot of attention to be adopted. I finally adopted Mia to my friends here in Fethiye who say she’s still as crazy as ever but they absolutely adore her.
Nacho and Cheeto
Well these two were filthy little gremlins. I remember I was riding my bike on a windy day. There were weather warnings that heavy rain was approaching and I had built a few houses out of boxes and plastic covering and was delivering them around the neighbourhood for the street cats. I stopped at a car wash place where I could hear kittens. I went in and saw them all in the box. The owners said they found them up the road. There were 4 of them they said they were keeping two of them. I asked about the other two and they said they would put them back. I thought no way, how can they do that, so I got another cardboard box from the rubbish. Thankfully my friend was with me and was able to hold them whilst we drove back to mine. They were black from soot and covered in
fleas. They hissed and growled but of course that didn’t scare me, I laughed. And I said “that's it boys, your new life has begun”. The photo above was taken a month after their arrival with me. They grew up to be amazing playing siblings and were adopted together by a Russian family in Fethiye. And to this day they are still together, almost 3 years later.
Isabell
Isabell made her place as the the first cat we were never going to adopt out. We were going to keep
her. She was paralysed from birth and at 4 weeks old she was found in a garden with her siblings and mother. She was taken on by another foster for short term. Then she needed another foster and I was contacted. This was the first time I helped a special needs kitten. I had no idea what I was doing but thanks to online information and social media groups I learnt almost everything within a few days. I knew I had to help her urinate but she could poop on her own. She was such a beautiful girl and every day got stronger. I got her specially made nappies from the USA which cost me a small fortune. But it was all worth it. Two months has passed and I had to travel to the UK. I left her in foster care with my lovely friend Linda. She took care of all her needs. But when I got back a new vet had opened and I heard they did physical therapy. I wanted to give her the chance to walk again. So I took her to stay at this vet to start water therapy, electro therapy and physical therapy. But after four days she stopped eating and looked awful. I took her home to try and feed her up. Unfortunately at 11pm that evening she got much worse and I rushed her back to the vets. They told me she was going to be okay. But at 4am in the morning I woke up and I knew she had died. I called them in the morning and they confirmed she had died at around 4am. I was in such a state. I could not get myself out of the bed. She was our first cat we ever decided to keep because of her disabilities. She was the most beautiful little kitten and touched many hearts and we still miss her to this day.
Charlie
Charlie is Isabelle’s brother. A lady contacted me after we lost Isabell and she told me that Charlie was
still in the garden all alone and she was looking for a home for him. Because of my love for Isabell I took him to get all his vaccinations and took him home with me. He reminded me of her so much. He was so soft and loving and slept in our bed every night, but I knew he needed a home. We weren’t ready to accept another cat after still feeling the loss. After a few weeks Charlie started having erratic movements and was on the floor shaking continuously. I knew instantly he was having a seizure. I couldn’t believe it; I was so shocked. It seems that Isabell and Charlie both suffered some birth defects. I rushed got him to the vet and we got him straight on epileptic medication which started to work. The only downside was that he had to take them for the rest of his life. Even though he had this condition a wonderful lady came forward to adopt him 2 months later And He says he is the best cat shes ever had. He now opens his mouth for her automatically for his tablets every day. I am so pleased he got his happy ending.
Simba
Simba was one of my first bottle fed babies back in 2016. It was the start of the unknown. I had little experience but I did a lot of research on how to feed kittens with a bottle. And bingo I finally got it. It was short term, only for a few weeks until the original fosters were back. Simba did go on to have a wonderful home in Fethiye. But 3 years later he went out as he did everyday and never came back. Unfortunately many cats go missing here, is no one’s fault but it happens. But Simba had the best start to life.
Betty
Betty came from the Cataralik shelter in Fethiye. I remember turning up one day and seeing thisscared little kitten in the corner with big eyes, short legs and a rather round belly full of worms. I was with my lovely friend Jo who finally persuaded me to take her home. I remember saying to Betty as I went to pick her up “You’re coming home with me. You will have no chance if you keep hissin and spitting at people”. I knew she was scared but also a little wild. It took around 2 weeks to get Betty to trust me. She became such a wonderful girl. She was finally rehomed in Fethiye. As always, I keep in touch with my rescues and foster homes. Betty turned a year old and suffered some gastrointestinal issues. She had a terrible few days and her last option, after many enemas, was to have an operation. Unfortunately she suffered a cardiac arrest and very sadly passed away. Her owner and I were heartbroken. This beautiful scared girl was destined to never get a home because of her wild heart. But when she did, I thought she would live for many happy years. Betty was so unusual looking and her character was extremely soft.
Hollie
Sweet little Holly and her sibling were found in hisaronu. Unfortunately the mother had not come back for a few days. They was around 3 weeks of age. I received a call from my partner to say there are some kittens without a mother what should we do. Well of course I said let's bring them home. We decided to collect them the next day but unfortunately Holly's brother never survived and it was too late once we reached them. Holly on the other hand was eating well and taking the bottle. She stayed with us for about 6 weeks and was finally adopted to a wonderful family only up the road from me. Holly is now 2 yrs old and doing amazing
Milli
That's right, a puppy. Occasionally I do foster puppies. I have fostered a total of 6 puppies in 7 years. These have all been from the shelter. Milli was a beautiful, healthy young pup who had been at the shelter a few days. But her downside was that she was full of parasites. The first few days she was eating well but then diarrhea started and I saw she had some hook worms inside. I had her poop tested and she had giardia coccidia and hookworms. It was awful and it was going kill her. She had medication and was immediately pooping worms, they were everywhere, coming out in every poop. She was on a drip every day for 4 days, even at my home. But then she had a prolapse from the worms, it was pushing her out. Every time I put it back she would poop and it would come out again she would scream the house down at night in pain. I felt so bad for her. I brought her to my bed put a baby nappy on her to try and hold the prolapse in. But by the morning she was very lethargic. I knew this was it. Her time was short. I held her in my arms for about 20 minutes. I tried to hook her morning drip up for the last time but deep down I knew it was already too late for her. She passed away in my arms. She had 3 weeks of a lovely life before the parasites took over her body. She had a home offer too. Unfortunately these sweet street babies don't stand much chance with mothers who have lived on the streets all their lives.
max
He was our most recent and the quickest to be adopted. The same day I brought him home he was adopted that evening by a friend of mine. He was fully weaned, wormed and deflead. I didn’t really have the space to take on a puppy at that moment but he was brought to the shelter in a cardboard box all alone. He would have been the only pup at the shelter of his age. So I had to bring him home, hoping I would find a suitable foster or forever home. The lucky boy had 6 home offers. And I’m so pleased I made that decision.
